Observatory Review by deconstructionista.blogspot.com

Observatory - S/T

Mathew Workman takes 9 years to do everything. Finally he spent 9 years on something interesting and worthwhile....FINALLY. It's noisy...it may make your eyes and ears bleed, and you'll surely only listen to it after killing a kitten........but goddam is it good.

BIO: Hey! Death?

Hey! Death?; (July 24, 1897 – missing July 2, 1937, declared dead January 5, 1939) was a noted American aviation pioneer, and author. She was the first woman to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross, which she was awarded as the first aviatrix to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She set many other records, wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences, and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots.

During an attempt to make a circum navigational flight of the globe in 1937, Hey! Death? disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island. Fascination with her life, career and disappearance continues to this day.

BIO: Grant Browning

aka / Monotronaut / The Secret Flyers

Grant has been writing and recording music since 1997. He has played guitar in punk/metal bands, wrote & recorded music under various names with Tim Janess, and collaborated on projects with Craig Robinson and Matt Workman.

Trying to keep a band together was much too difficult, but Grant had never stopped writing and recording solo material under multiple aliases. By 2002, he completed three albums of lo-fi 4-track recordings under his singer/songwriter alias, "Porcelain Rockstar", recorded various instrumental tracks under the name, "The Heart Scouts", and a few shoegazer inspired tracks under the name, "The Love Me Nots". He later developed an interest in electronic music-and quickly began working in the genre himself, under the alias, "Monotronaut", and ambient off-shoot,"Morphine Sundae".

Presently, Grant is still operating as Monotronaut, and records his singer/songwriter projects under the current alias, "The Secret Flyers". He also continues to talk in 3rd person. Grant and Matt have a side project called "The Vague Accountants".
